Ongoing one-on-one psychotherapy and counseling is a vital component for growth and healing of individuals at Simple Recovery. Meeting with a therapist individually can break down barriers that prevent physical, emotional, and spiritual growth.
Those suffering from the disease of addiction can leave the addict isolated. Simple Recovery clients often create their first intimate relationship that is built on honesty, trust, and guidance to uncover their inner world and their relationships. Compassion, self-esteem, spiritual connections, and grounding techniques are tools you will learn in one-on-one therapy.
What does one-on-one therapy consist of?
Each individual session at Simple Recovery last an average of 45 minutes to an hour. Each of our therapists strive to help the client identify problems and understand the inner workings of their disease to cope with the demands of everyday living. Therapeutic goals are set, often involving changing behavioral patterns, replacing negative thought patterns with positive thoughts, and emotional regulation. The techniques used by our therapists include dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, core belief therapy, and trauma-informed therapies to help reveal insight about the individual’s needs in treatment, and in their relationships with themselves and the world around them.
What does one-on-one therapy treat?
One-on-one therapy is used to treat substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders including depression, anxiety and trauma. Individuals find that through working with an individual therapist they are able to address personal issues they may not be able to in a group setting.
Simple Recovery’s therapists support our clients in making imperative lifestyle changes, and serve as a support system, providing insight and techniques toward creating a more productive and healthy life.
